Universal Geneve Tri-Compax Ref. 222100/2

Sale Price:$9,750.00 Original Price:$10,499.99
sale

The ref. 222100/2 was one of the last Tri-Compax variants that Universal produced, this one dating to around early to mid 1960s. One of the sportiest iterations of the Tri-Compax, this reference stands out with a gorgeous brushed finish on the dial, with an external scale, adding to the sportiness of the overall layout. The dauphine hour and minute hands pair incredibly well with the applied baton hour markers which have developed a lovely patina. The lugs have a twist that remind us of UG's Gérald Genta designed Polerouter. This example is paired to a lovely suede band from Molequin.

Brand: Universal Geneve

Model: Tri-Compax Ref. 222100/2

Year: Circa 1965

Case:

  • 36mm (Excluding Crown), 45mm Lug-to-Lug, and 19mm Lug Width

  • Stainless Steel

Movement: 17-Jewel Manual Winding Universal Geneve Cal. 281

Crystal: Acrylic

Bracelet/ Strap: 19mm Molequin Suede Band

Features: Brushed Dial with tachymeter scale. 12-hour counting chronograph with 30-minute accumulator, Moonphase and Full Calendar complications. Dauphine hands, baton indicies, pump pushers, signed crown, screw down case back and original box. Manual Winding Column Wheel Chronograph Movement Universal Cal. 281

Box & Papers: Yes (Box Only)

Condition: In great, original condition. Runs and keeps accurate time. Chronograph runs and resets slightly right of zero. The brushed dial has some age, but all markers remain completely legible. The case also has some wear from age, but there are no major dings or scratches. All complications function as they should. The setters all work, but the month setter was slightly recessed during the recent full service in 2019.
